Eighteenth

Nineteenth
streets
,
one
architect
involved
with the
school's
1908
construction
referred
to the
finished
product
as "a
dandy
"
although
the
city's
population
surge
made
the
building
obsolete
as a
high
school
,
prompting
the
construction
of
another
building
in
1924
. The
original
school
would
serve
ably
as
Junior
High
and
night
school
for
decades
to
come
.
