Title	Hotel Sequoia - 911 K Street, Sacramento, Cal.

Description	The Hotel Sequoia (as the Sequoia Hotel) first appeared in the 1911 Sacramento City Directory at 911 K Street, right next door to the Sequoia Theater, one of almost a dozen venues on K Street offering motion pictures at that time. Owned by the United Realty Company when it first opened in 1910, this postcard dated 1913 offers the following description on the back, "Hotel Sequoia - European - New and Modern - Rates $1, $1.50, $2 per day - Telephone in every room - Steam Heat - Beds best money can buy". Along a stretch of street that bears little resemblance to the thoroughfare depicted in this card, the Hotel Sequoia still stands, still serves as a hotel, though after a century it is doubtful that "Beds (are the) best money can buy."
