Title	Early Carmichael Family
Date	1910
Description	Pictured in circa 1918 is a family and early residents of Carmichael, California. All of those pictured are well dressed. Distant oak trees sit in the middle of the frame. The area had been part of the 44,000-acre Rancho San Juan land grant, bestowed upon pioneer Eliab Grimes in 1844 by Mexico. It wasn’t until the founding of Daniel Carmichael’s Carmichael Colonies Number One and Two in 1911 that area settlement came in earnest.
