is
the
Folsom
Prison’s
ivy-shrouded
administrative
building
,
completed
in
1881
.
Up
until
1914
, the
Warden’s
residence
was
located
on the
top
floor
of the
building
.
It
was
moved
to
just
beyond
the
East
Gate
that
same
year
. The
second
floor
consisted
of
accounting
,
records
,
hospital
, and
warden
offices
, and a
staff
dining
hall
. This
is
the
same
floor
that
included
a
steel
door
that
led
into the
prison’s
original
cell
block
.
It
would
eventually
be
renamed
the
Officers
and
Guards
Building
after
the
prison’s
administrative
personnel
moved
to a
new
building
in
1930
.
