Description	This "Sacramento Historical Landmark" sign was posted on Front Street between I and J Streets. It reads: City Hotel Here Sacramento City's first major hotel was built in 1849 of timbers originally in John Sutter's grist mill. Erected by Hotel Senator Marked by Sacramento Historic Landmarks Commission 1955.
