Description	This circa 1970 photograph shows American Legion School, located at 3814 Fourth Avenue. Built in 1921, the elementary school was part of a surge in building that saw the construction of Bret Harte and David Lubin schools as well, between 1920 and 1923. American Legion was constructed for 270,000 dollars, with the site being purchased for 58,000 dollars.
