Title	Unloading Cans at the Bercut Richards Packing Company
Date	1942
Description	This 1942 photograph shows cans being unloaded at the Bercut Richards cannery warehouse. The cans were manufactured in Oakland and transported to Sacramento by rail. This shows cans being unloaded at the Bercut-Richards Packing Company. An entire boxcar could be unloaded in a couple of hours by two men using the process pictured. The man completely in view is holding a can "fork." The long-handled bar had a number of pegs to fit the stacked cans and lift and move them easily to the conveyor belt.
