Title	Pacific Grocery
Date	1917
Description	Mary Lutenegger and Art Lindsay stand behind a lattice-like barrier known as the Cage in the far left corner of the Pacific Grocery (2919 35th Street) in this photograph circa 1917. Dry goods of all kind are displayed for sale, from Ceylon tea to mops and brooms, while apples are available in large baskets on the floor. Standing on the balcony is owner Henry Thomas, and behind the counter to the right backed by a wall of canned goods stand Harold Schwalenberg, Thomas Purcell and Frank Fransva(?). Tools for weighing, grinding and wrapping purchases lie within easy reach of the three men to the right. Lindsay was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Pacific Grocery and Produce Company in 1914 when this Oak Park store opened, joining the original Pacific Grocery at 711 J Street.
