Description	This is a circa 1960 photograph of Herbert E. Goodpastor, a Sacramento architect between 1936 and 1964. One of his most entertaining personal projects was the art deco style Colonial Theater at 3522 Stockton Boulevard, opened June 7, 1940 and still in operation. In October of 1948 the Manor Theatre, designed by Goodpastor and his firm, became the first movie house in the South area built as part of a shopping center at 5677 Stockton and screened movies for nearly forty years. Goodpastor served on the Sacramento City Planning Commission from 1947 and 1951 and the Capitol Mall Committee in 1951. The 1926 University of California at Berkeley graduate also served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II.
