. The
company
was
founded
in
1900
by
S
.
Edgar
Alderman
, and
stood
as a
steadying
presence
in the
Sacramento
real
estate
market
in the
early
part
of the
twentieth-century
,
settling
property
disputes
and
keeping
titles
clear
. The
pictured
structure
,
measuring
some
4,800
square
feet
in
size
, was
built
in
1940
for a
staff
of
over
twenty
.
It
was also
fit
with a
20
by
40
foot
fireproof
vault
for
record
storage
.
