Title	Pedroni’s Pharmacy at Twenty-Seventh and Sacramento Boulevard
Date	1941
Description	The 2730 Sacramento Boulevard location of Pedroni’s Pharmacy is pictured in this January 29, 1941, photograph. The sons of Swiss-Italian immigrants, Joseph and Richard Pedroni left their native Napa County for Sacramento in 1920, opening their first location in the same year at Thirty-Ninth and J Streets. In 1929, they sold that property and moved to the pictured Oak Park location, purchasing it for 44,000 dollars. The interior was colored-schemed Nile green and ivory and contained a twenty-seven foot long, green and brown-tiled soda fountain with its own pre-cooled water system. The building also housed three other businesses. The brothers operated the drugstore until their retirement in 1958. Joseph died in 1967, Richard in 1973.
