.
Just
six
years
earlier
,
thieves
broke
into the
building
and
took
the
organization's
safe
which
contained
250
dollars
. The
safe
was
eventually
found
under
the
porch
of a
home
at the
corner
of
Eighteenth
and
Capitol
. A
sign
identifying
this
stretch
of
L
street
as
part
of
U.S
.
Highway
99
can
be
seen
on the
left
side
of the
picture
.
