Title	Sutter's Fort, State Historical Park
Description	As seen from L Street, spectators take in Sutter's Fort, part of the California State Parks system since 1947. Although United States and California State flags fly in the foreground, a Mexican flag hangs to the right of the frame. The tricolor flew, in actuality, from 1840, at which time Sutter became a naturalized citizen of Mexico, to 1846, when John Fremont occupied the Sutter's Fort in the name of the Bear Flag Revolt.
